ThinkLite Chosen by Chase Corporation for LED Retrofit of Oxford MA Plant
March 7th, 2019

ThinkLite improves the lighting quality and focuses on a sustainable lighting initiative for the company’s plant in Oxford Massachusetts.

ThinkLite is pleased to have been selected by Chase Corporation for an energy efficient LED lighting retrofit. For over sixty years, Chase Corporation has distinguished itself as a leader in the development and manufacturing of high performance industrial coatings, tapes adhesives and sealants, marketed under respected industry brand names like Chase & Sons, HumiSeal, Paper Tyger and CPC Serviwrap. When the decision was made to improve the lighting quality and to focus on a sustainable lighting initiative for the company’s plant in Oxford Massachusetts, Chase Corporation chose ThinkLite.

ThinkLite believes in challenging the wasteful practices of today and so has developed an LED retrofit solution that allows companies to replace inefficient fluorescent tubes with highly efficient ThinkLite LED tubes without replacing the fixtures.

“We wanted to dramatically decrease our ‘electrical footprint’ but not at the expense of disposing of our existing light fixtures to achieve this,” said Herbert Klei who oversees the Oxford location for Chase.

"We were impressed with the quality
of the ThinkLite solutions and their driverless technology.
They offer the highest lumens per watt for a T5
fluorescent replacement available today (131 LPW)."

Herbert Klei, Chase Corporatio

Klei summarized the many reasons that Chase selected ThinkLite for this important project. “We made a strategic decision to pursue LED lighting and after doing our diligence, we were impressed with the quality of the ThinkLite solutions and their driverless technology. They offer the highest lumens per watt for a T5 fluorescent replacement available today (131 LPW), providing improved light throughout the facility. With a ten year lifespan and no lamp or ballast maintenance, we also determined that our labor costs to maintain our lighting would be dramatically reduced.”

Michael Andersen, ThinkLite Vice President of North American Sales describes the many features and benefits of the Chase Corporation retrofit. We were able to retrofit fixtures with four 54-watt T-5 fluorescent tubes with two 26-watt ThinkLite high performance T5 LED tubes. That’s over 70% reduction in energy consumption!”

“We also chose the ThinkLite product because they have a color rating index (CRI) of 93+, providing a nice, clean light that is important to our operations. Now that our facility is now using half the bulbs, with each bulb consuming less than half the previous wattage, our conversion will result in significant cost savings,” said Klei.

“We present each and every customer with a detailed savings analysis, calculate ROI and work with the utilities to secure the best cash incentive rebates available,” said Andersen. “Our goal is to make every project a financial ‘no brainer’ while delivering the absolute best, sustainable solution available today.”

Klei concluded, “We continue to order frequently from ThinkLite and are pleased to consider them our energy efficient lighting partner.”
